Tom Brown Park
Hours of Operation: Sunrise to Sunset
Tom Brown Park is located in the eastern part of Tallahassee, east of Capital Circle SE, between Mahan Drive and Apalachee Parkway. This nearly 300 acre park offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities. This is the City of Tallahassee's premier place to play, with numerous baseball and softball fields, tennis and racquetball courts, playgrounds, wide open spaces, wooded trails, a pump track and a dog park. Tom Brown Park also hosts Celebrate America, the City of Tallahassee's annual 4th of July Fireworks Show.
The park was dedicated on January 30, 1977 and named after Thomas Irvin Brown, Jr., who was a Leon County Commissioner for 14 years. He was also a coach for Leon High School and the Babe Ruth League. His efforts and leadership touched the lives of many citizens.
